About Us
CrossFit is more than a workout—it's a way of life that transformed my family and me in ways I never expected. The first time I walked into a CrossFit gym, I found a community that welcomed me, challenged me, and showed me what it truly means to push past limits. The grit, the sweat, the shared victories—it's been life-changing. I've grown stronger, healthier, and more resilient, and I want my kids to grow up surrounded by that same energy.
I was born and raised in Grand County and graduated from Middle Park High School in 1989. After thirty years of adventures elsewhere, I returned home in 2021 with my family. It was my old wrestling coach and lifelong friend, Cal Cherrington, who introduced me to CrossFit. Cal and his wife Tami founded Stand Firm CrossFit in Granby, and in 2022, Cal became the World Champion in the 65+ age division. When we joined their incredible community, I saw firsthand the power of CrossFit to unite people. But I also saw a need on the east side of the county—a chance to bring that same spirit closer to home.
That’s why I founded Soulshine CrossFit.

This gym is my way of giving back. I’ve seen strangers become teammates, cheering each other through one more rep, one more round. I want to create that same environment here in our small mountain town—a place where everyone, regardless of fitness level, feels welcomed, supported, and empowered. CrossFit’s focus on functional movement, scalability, and community means we meet people exactly where they are and help them discover their own strength.
My goal is simple: build a gym that becomes a cornerstone of health, connection, and growth. I love coaching—not just teaching movements, but inspiring confidence and resilience. Whether you’re taking your first step into fitness or chasing a new PR, we’re here to guide you. I want my kiddos to see this every day: a community of people pushing themselves, lifting each other up, and growing stronger together.
Soulshine CrossFit is more than a gym. It’s a legacy of grit, health, and unity—for my family, for our kids, and for Grand County.
